Review:
A number of people have read The Hunger Games trilogy, well-known all around the world. And a big part of them were patiently waiting for the last respite of trilogy’s screening. Just like me (I rushed to the cinema as soon as I could). To be honest, Mockingjay Part 2 disappointed me a bit… I didn’t feel like I’d wasted my time and money, but I would be alright without seeing this movie too.
SCRIPT // In book, the reader sinks in action since the beginning, but in film, you are tortured for a nice half of hour and you are waiting for the beginning of action all that time – it seems like everything will start now, but no, you are wrong, hehe. The True Intrigue starts somewhere around the ending of movie. Of course, when all the stuff begins, it is quite interesting and delightful to watch this film. They couldn’t avoid trite ideas like stressful walking in dark and silent tunnels full of scary monsters, but it’s easy to guess when someone will jump out of the dark corner. But the biggest disadvantage of movie is that no matter how intriguing the plot twists are, they are so flat that it will be a pain to watch film for the second time; it will be impossible to discover new stuff or think about that stuff. // MY RATING: 5.
VISUALS // Everything’s really really alright. Super-realistic, stunning visual effects, majestic, maybe even shocking sceneries. Everything really makes the viewer believe it.// MY RATING: 10.
ACTING, CHARACTERS // I liked the acting pretty much, everybody managed to act out emotions they had to. Well, something like that. Personages have something like strong characters, some of them have opinion and attitude. Especially the main character, that’s why it is quite comfortable to watch the movie. // MY RATING: 7
MINTIS, IDĖJA // The idea is not trite yet – all the stories about our gloomy future, deadly teenagers’ games revived after this trilogy. Of course, we had similar stuff before as well. Film has the idea – not very deep, but, I think, it is quite actual and realistic: people’s selfishness and desire to control can lead to revolution that costs a lot. Unfortunately, it wasn’t intense enough to keep me thinking about after leaving cinema. // MY RATING: 7
SUMMING UP // The movie was better than most, at least we want to believe it is true. It is filled dramatic and unexpected plot twists, unfortunately, I would do anything except watching this movie for the second time – I would know what is going to be and events are the backbone of movie. Sadly, it is weak, single-time joy.
